Donegal Town Crime Prevention Seminar
Gardai in south Donegal are warning business owners to be on alert after a premises in Donegal Town was the victim of conmen at the weekend. A €500 note was passed across the counter at the petrol station on the Killybegs road. The culprits looked for change for the note in an attempt to dupe the cashier. After a second transaction, the men left with €200 more than they entered the premises. Crime prevention officer in Co Donegal, Garda Sargeant, Paul Wallace said such crimes are a regular occurence. He advised local businesses to support a crime prevention seminar taking place in the Mill Park Hotel in Donegal Town at 8pm this evening to discuss a number of topics linked to crime locally. It has been reported that the Polish Mafia have been visiting local businesses in an attempt to make them hand over protection money. The group are offering "security services". If you are approached by any of these crooks please conact Garda Sargeant, Paul Wallace.
